On Wednesday, November 22, 2023, in the Jure Petričević Hall of Matica Hrvatska in Zagreb, the first contemporary printed edition of the Madrigali concertati by Gabriel Usper, awarded with the Golden Charter of the President of Matica Hrvatska, was presented. The edition was prepared by Professor Ennio Stipčević and musicologist Ivana Petravić, and published on the occasion of the 400th anniversary of the first printing by the Matica hrvatska Branch in Sveta Nedelja and the Croatian Music Center. The book was presented to the Zagreb audience on behalf of the publisher by the president of the Matica hrvatska branch in Sveta Nedelja, Ivana Juričić, musicologist Ivana Petravić, who prepared the transcription of the edition, prof. art. Mario Penzar and Assistant Professor Monika Jurić Janjik of the Academy of Music in Zagreb as reviewers, and the editors of the edition, Assistant Professor Martina Mičija Palić and Robert Palić. In the musical part of the program, the audience gathered in large number enjoyed an excellent performance of selected madrigals by members of the Projekt Lazarus ensemble, sopranos Hana Ilčić and Petra Cik, under the artistic direction of maestro Darijan Ivezić. The publication of the Madrigali concertati collection in contemporary printed form was made possible by the City of Sveta Nedelja, the Zagreb County, and the City of Zagreb, for which we are sincerely grateful.
